Renewing your vows

Is a gesture of love and commitment to your partner. You may have been married abroad? Your relationship might have been through a difficult period and you want a fresh start by renewing your vows to one another, maybe you eloped and had no chance of sharing your happy day with your loved ones, or you simply want to celebrate a special wedding anniversary.

For those romantics at heart, you can have a vow renewal and make your second special day just as personal and romantic as the first. Your wedding vow renewal ceremony should be a unique personal experience that reflects who you are as lifelong partners. You can exchange your personally written messages of continued devotion before all in attendance.

Renewing Your Vows

Personalised ceremonies for special occasions…

The Legalities

A renewal of your vows is NOT a legal ceremony, it is a symbolic, sentimental ceremony. No licence or formal paperwork is required; albeit some officiates may request to see your original marriage certificate to confirm that you are already married.

The ‘Record of Ceremony’ document that you will be given afterwards cannot be used as proof of identification and the ceremony itself is not legally binding.  Your original wedding certificate will not be altered to show the renewal of vows ceremony took place.

“… 25 years ago, I pledged my love and commitment to you, but it seems like only yesterday. I promised to love you, honour you, comfort and keep you. I pledged to be by your side in sickness and in health, in times of want, and times of plenty, for better or worse, for the rest of our lives….”
