Funerals
When someone you love dies, only you know how you are going to feel and only you know how you want to say your goodbye to that person.
About Darren Bradshaw - Celebrant
Darren has been working as a celebrant and registrar for many years and has conducted many different types of ceremonies including funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies and civil partnerships. Darren is now focusing on providing the perfect funeral ceremony for your loved one. We can create the type of personal goodbye that you want.
Darren will help you craft a farewell in a way that honours your loved one and supports you in your grieving. He will work alongside the family to create exactly the service you wish to hold, taking into account the beliefs, memories, hopes and expectations of everyone concerned. Each service is bespoke, honouring the person who has died and focusing on everything that made them special, loved and unique.
Whether it is a funeral ceremony at a crematorium or cemetery, or something bespoke at another venue, Darren will work with you to help find the words, music, and actions you want to use to express yourself at this most difficult time. He understands that everyone’s grief is personal to them, and he offers a service to help you find your way through the days leading up to the funeral.
Personalised ceremonies for special occasions…
A Funeral Ceremony that reflects your needs
What form a funeral takes is a delicate balance between honouring what people either know or believe their loved one would have wanted, and what will help and support those left behind. Some people are clear that, for themselves, they want a funeral ceremony with no religious content, and have communicated that to their next of kin. Others have made explicit their desire to have a religious service. Many people, however, have not made their own wishes very clearly known. It is left to their nearest and dearest to try and interpret what would have been right for them. Darren will support you in these decisions and deliver a funeral ceremony according to your wishes and needs. He is committed to conducting dignified and meaningful funeral ceremonies where everyone is welcomed into an atmosphere of warmth, support and respect.
Child and Baby Funerals
Losing a baby or a child is one of the most difficult and painful losses imaginable. Darren can offer funeral ceremonies for parents who have lost a baby through stillbirth, as well as those whose children have died after birth or in early years. There are no fees for these funerals.
The Funeral ceremony fee includes a home visit to interview the family, other necessary interviewing and information gathering, the preparation and production of the ceremony script, and delivering that on the day of the funeral.
Memorial Ceremony
Darren will deliver as much or as little of the ceremony as you require on the day, depending on how much you and others may want to participate, and will provide support for participants if needed
Services & Fees
Each funeral ceremony is unique and created to mark the life of your loved one. There is no set script. You can make it totally personal and special.
There is a basic structure to any funeral service, but we can make it personal to your loved one. Darren will guide you through the various options and together you can create a loving and personal funeral tribute.
This is an example of how a funeral ceremony might be organised.
